Fact and propaganda: war and real-time social-media
At present there are well over 6000 comments each day on those LiveBlogs. Almost all of them come from people with strong opinions, of course. Nothing is certain; one of the few things that does seem certain is that quite a few people there are not what they claim. Yet between them the commenters do seem to have a surprising range of skills, experience and information. For example, one of them, ‘Gerhard Heinz’, does appear to have near-real-time access to a satellite-feed, because much of his information, if opinionated, is precise, specific, and usually subsequently proven as fact ...

Update 1. Mai
C.J. Chivers berichtet aus Misurata

Update 3. Mai
Das halte ich mal fest. Nachrichten aus Libyen kommen spärlich. Gerhard Heinz meint beim Libya Live Blog:
updates
there is going something on in the moment.
daffis troops are complete out of comunikation even uhf is disturbe.
the attacks and movements thei make in the moment are from kompanie level and without any koordination or tactical sence. on the other side a lot of my sources say wait until this night to me.
the whole thing locks like the time followed by unkondi.surrender and exit from daffi or his sons
chance 50/50

Update 5. Mai:
ein bemerkenswerter Kommentar bei Libya Live Blog von Al Jazeera:
Some of the key advice NATO is providing is keeping the press away or quiet from sensitive operations - real time TV only helps Gadaffi. So when you hear or see little do not assume nothing happening. The more quiet it is be pleased the FF are working professionally - ...

Unklaren Quellen muss man einfach kritisch gegenübersteheln.
